Jr. Software Engineer (Vehicle)

Creative Mobile Technologies, LLC, a dominant player in the taxi dispatch, interactive mobile media and point of sale space, headquartered in Long Island City, New York, is seeking a Jr. Software Engineer. This is a full time position based in Long Island City, NY.

 

The primary responsibility of this position involves design, development, testing and implementation of key in-vehicle systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, maintain and optimize existing in-vehicle software.
  • Provide support to Sr. Software Engineers as needed.
  • Work with vehicle support specialists and technicians on understanding and troubleshooting priority field issues as necessary.
  • Provide and maintain up to date, thorough documentation for all responsible systems, processes and issues.
  • Provide second and third tier support and written documentation for users and applications as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Software Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience building Java applications (Preferably with embedded or mobile systems).
  • Good working knowledge of Java 1.6+ (C programming helpful).
  • Some experience with bash scripts preferred.
  • Solid OO analysis and design skills and experience working with design patterns.
  • Familiarity with various flavors of Linux (Ubuntu preferred).
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of open source tools and libraries.
  • QT Framework experience a plus.
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle, including a strong quality focus demonstrating success with design reviews, code reviews, & unit testing.
  • Strong analytical and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Team player eager to work closely with, learn from and mentor others while continually improving self and team.
  • Innately curious about new technologies and their practical application in a startup environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in and wear more than one hat in a dynamic organization.
  • BS in CS or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Authorized for full time employment in the United States.
