NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2014 – Creative Mobile Technologies, LLC (CMT), the leading taxi technology provider in the United States, has announced the compatibility of its in-vehicle payment platforms with Apple’s Apple Pay Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless payment technology.

Based upon the same NFC infrastructure popularized by Visa® payWave, and Mastercard® PayPass, Apple Pay allows passengers with credit cards registered with Apple Pay on their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices to pay for goods and services by simply tapping their iPhone to compatible Point of Sale payment terminals.

Leveraging the existing contact-less payment devices that CMT has already deployed into more than 35,000 vehicles across the United States, Passengers can now conveniently pay for their ride at the end of the trip with Apple Pay, avoiding the hassle of fumbling with wallets and credit cards as they move across the City. Transactions benefit from the same PCI Level 1 security standards that CMT has certified to, along with the advanced security features inherent to Apple Pay. Supported markets include New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and more than 70 cities in which CMT is active.
